Bring on 2019!

Like I said, I'm still here, but just don't know what to post. I've had some encouragement to just post about anything really. So I'll start with what I've been doing lately.

Getting shit done! Ok not really, but working on myself and my goals for 2019.

1. My biggest goal is 52 hikes! Sounds lofty but I think it will be amazing! So far, I've gone snowshoeing on New year's day, which was my first time ever snowshoeing but so cool! My dog did NOT enjoy the snowshoeing. She loves hiking, and she's used to the boots, so I think the deep snow just freaked her out. Later that week, I took her to an open space close by that has a couple of trails and some amazing views.

I'll take any trail suggestions you guys have! I'm based in Colorado but want to get out and travel and hike if possible.

2. Other than that, I want to read 24 books. Last year I had the same goal and only read 18.

3. Yoga. Originally I wanted to do a 300 hour yoga training, but I just can't afford it this year, so instead, I just want to do and teach more yoga. I was practicing at home and Mollie wanted to get involved. She just always makes me smile so I wanted to share that.

What are your goals for 2019?

My primary goal this year is to practice mindfulness and meditation. My secondary goal is to do some yoga so that my body doesn't atrophy and stop working, i've been sedentary all year almost and I'm so out of shape. I love reading books, and it's cool that you have a goal of reading more, stick to it! If you don't have a library card, get one!! Libraries are a treasure, and if we don't use them we will lose them. I would suggest joining a book club if you have not already, it always helps to get a book read if you have people counting on you to discuss it with them. I joined/started a sci-fi book club that is sponsored by a local bookstore where I live, and we host it out of the pub I co-own. It's great, and though I don't always finish every book, it's given me a great list of books to catch up on when I don't have anything else to read, and I love getting other's perspectives on the books. I also listen to a lot of audiobooks. A lot of times I feel like people don't feel like that counts, but if you are able to focus and listen the knowledge you gain when listening to books is retained just as well as if you read them with your eyes. Anyway, thanks for sharing and good luck on your goals!!
