We're living in an age of lyrical poetry. Future generations will look back on our time and see the influential writers not in the crop of young idealists clinging to modern poetry, but to music, both underground and popular. The great writers from our time will not be Robert Pinsky or Charles Bukowski, incredible though they may be (and I know they are not young, but they are the ones who many young poets look up to). The great writers will be Bob Dylan, Joe Strummer, NWA, Billy Corgan, and any other musician you can find in your CD collection. Ours is a revisit to French Provincal poetry. The lasting resonance will be from our troubadors.
