i survived the dinner with my fianc's parents...had a rather lovely time, actually.
i'm now cleaning out tons of music files from my computer, so i can make room for, uh, more. it's all my music, though...none of that file sharin' mp3 stuff allowed here.
back to work, but not before dropping off a quick ...just for you!

Must... refrain from... delving... deeper

so, anyway, MAHI MAHI is this really good dance-music-creating duo from Providence. one guy plays drums (live and electronic/synth? whatever they are called) and the other sings, plays keyboards, and uses some electronic equipment to play samples, make sounds, distort his voice, and distort the sounds the drummer is making.
i saw them twice opening for other bands and they rocked me into oblivion, it was the first time i'd ever lost myself completely dancing to live music.
i don't really like bands interrupting dance night, but they seem like they were tailor-made to play at the club. i'd really love to see them play a room full of people who WANT to dance as opposed to the room full of punks and indie rock kids who are too busy trying to look cool...
this is their website i think it has mp3s on it, but from what i've been told, they sound much better live than on recording. still, check it out if you get a chance. they're really cool/nice guys to talk to. they just seem to love playing.

congrats on the meeting of the parents. i'm historically really good with moms, but really bad with dads, i don't know what it is...
it sounds like you did just fine though.
