Easy, "Wonderful Subdivision" by St. Louis punk band DRUNKS WITH GUNS.
In the early 80's, the Drunks With Guns zigged when every other St Louis punk band zagged, setting them apart, and setting them in stone as one of the greats in STL punk history. Luxuriate in the slow anger of Wonderful Subdivision as the beer and cheap drugs take your mind away...
2. What is a piece of art that you have, or would love to have, hanging on your wall or sitting in your house?
I was lucky enough to buy three drawings by Carly Jean Andrews, before she got famous! I also have some early Robin Eisenberg, and Penelope Gazen. I'm just lucky, I guess.
3. One of your comfort movies/series that you have seen more than 3 times.
1981's ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK thrusts you into the future, all the way to the unimaginable year of 1997! Called "The greatest B-movie ever made." It's high concept about low culture. Action packed, a stacked cast, and beautiful images squeezed out of a low budget, this movie has it all. My favorite movie ever.
4. A video game that you have spent the most of hours playing.
During the long lockdown of 2020, I was all alone, and if I wasn't making art, or eating, I was killing nazis with an old Medal Of Honor game on PS2!
5. A book or book series that you love.
Easy, the Eternaut by Oesterhrld and Lopez.
I own the recent American English translation...
and the 1969 A/E translation...
Yes, it's a comic book, one of the most important comic books ever made.
6. Tell us a joke that cracks you up, or share a meme that always makes you laugh.
Q) Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?
A) Because it was dead!
7. What is one of your favorite simple meals from your childhood that you still love today?
Homemade fried chicken, french frys, broccoli and a Coke.
