So the crazy lady that flirts with everyone at the store (Including me) was apparently calling the store to find out when I came in on wednesday. A clerk told her when I was scheduled to show up and she came to see me. She tried to return a large bottle of tequila, we cant refund alcohol. I told her this fact. She smiles and hangs around for another minute behind my back as Im working. Leaves without a sound.
10 minutes later, a phone call arrives. Clerk says it is for me.
I never get calls at the store. I pick it up hoping it isnt anything drastic or horrific.
Me: Hello?
Her: Oh, hey..
Me: (Wondering if this is my sister calling) Oh, hi. Can I help you?
Her: Do you remember what day it is?
Me: Oh, hey X. Is it that day already? (Searching memory banks to remember that she said that her birthday was in 7 days, a week ago) Happy birthday.
Her: Did you remember?
Me: Now that you told me again. I gotta get back to work. See ya later.
I tell the clerk not to give out my info to her if she calls again and then realize she probably has about all she needs to find me if she wanted to. I tell various employees about the call to all kinds of funny/scared reactions.
On Wednesday I was awoken from my sleep by a call from my mom who works with my brother during the summer. She wanted to know where he was at. Apparently he had arrived at the office just in time to witness one of the workers having a heart attack which later killed her. That has got to be an intense experience.
on a softer note- Im trying my best to get used to contact lenses. I went into the optometrist for the first time about those and got all kinds of tests done to help with vision without my specs and generally baffled the docs with my "funny shaped eyes" as the esteemed doctor said.
It took me over an hour of trying to get my left lens out. Hopefully it will get easier with practice and repetition.
