Looks like it might be a little while longer until I can get the vegas pictures up, so I might as well write another entry.
Lets see... Friday was my first day back to work in a while. What a good day to come back to also, we rented out the theater to the high school of the town next to mine so they could have a Show Choir competition with all of the other show choirs in the surrounding areas. Let me just start off by stating that I have worked at the theater for 3 years now and have yet to have a show choir show that I enjoyed. It's high school students who sing (like britney spears) and dance (Jazz Hands included) to broadway, musical numbers, and even.... modern rock. It's always surreal to see 40 people putting interpretive dance to "Sweetness" by Jimmy Eat World. That behind me now the audience is even worse, for whatever reason people who come to watch this crap seem to come in angry. Im walking this woman down to her seat and I have my flashlight on even though the main lights are on because that is the theaters policy, believe or not we have patrons who are that old so that they cant see the stairs in front of them when the lights are on.
So anyway, this woman is just giving me all kinds of crap. "No boy, your light is on!" she says, I reply "Miss, I know. Im here to make sure you make it to your seat safely, in case you fall we dont want to be sued." "Whatever. That's retarded" she shoots back. I swear sometimes it just isnt worth to be nice to people. When I went on my break to the lobby to sit down a while( it was a 6 hour show) I got in between an argument with one of my coworkers and a member of the choir in Arcadia. Later that night I also learn that one of my coworker's (who will remain nameless) who previously told me 1) He is a proud Christian 2) He supports the war 3) He enjoyed putting his first dog to sleep because it bit him, also wants to add that he "hates asians" to his list. After that it was a quick 1/2 hour clean-up of the theater after the horde of litterers leave and I get home promptly at 12:15 am.
In other news, the show at the Wiltern last night was pretty good. I was excited to see all of the 4 bands when my bro and me got the tickets. heres how it actually went down
1st up- Zao- Good vocalist, songs need work. Crowd's not into it.
2nd up- Devildriver- Fantastic set, the whole theater was in their hands just like I thought it would be. I question why this band doesnt get more respect, they are living legends in my eyes.
Direct Support- Trivium- Puzzling to me how a band can sound better on record. I thought the live expirience would always be better, guess I was wrong. They shot their new video for their next single at the show, so if you see me next time you see watch headbangers ball or uranium thats me being uninterested. Good times when they started doing a pantera tune.
Headliner- In Flames- Fantastic set, No wonder they are in the top 5 metal acts in the world. Their decision to play stuff from across the entire catalog sat very well with me, it was good to hear songs from their new album too. Anders, the singer left the stage for one of their more poular songs and got an audience member to come on stage to sing it. The first guy they brought up was a damn punk who didnt even attempt to do it but he pulled up another guy after about a minute of no vocals and the 2nd guy brought the house down, he really knew what he was doing.
PS- Bought Anberlin a birthday present, and learned (thanx to Somnia) that canadians dont use pounds as currency but canadian dollars.

Let me know if and what you decide to bring, just so we don't double up on anything.
Also, this Saturday is the SGOC Brunch. It'd be a good place to meet some people. I would offer to share a ride down, but my wife and I have plans for after.
