Hmmm, where to start...

I got a little beer buzz going, I went to see some friends from Texas play tonight, Two Tons of Steel. I rode my motorcycle to OKC to watch them, and I really enjoyed the ride, I haven't been up on two lately. It was really great to see those guys, I used to hang out with them, and we...

I envy guitar techs... They get to be the first guys done on a strike and they're the the ones who get the second best girls and bus bunks...

Me I had to fight it out with the staging guy for last dibs...

Today marks the 4th anniversary of me not being dead. I still struggle with chronic pain and depression, but it actually feels pretty good to be alive a lot of the time. My nieces have been visiting for the last couple of weeks, and they're such a blast to hang out with. I'd hate to have missed them. I taught the 18 year old how...

Hey bud...my father passed away on June 18th, 09. just last week and I can tell you I am struggling hard right now. I suffer from depression as well and i am trying everything in the world to maintain sanity...so i know where you are coming from.

Glad to know you're still kickin'. Over the past few months, I had doubts about myself, but it feels good to have made it through.

On a different note, in a couple of months, I'm thinking about finding a used BMG Red Special (the Brian May knock-off of the Guild knock-off of the guitar Brian May made with his dad) and modifying/upgrading it - weeding out the cheap parts. What I would really like to do, though, is build my own guitar with as much variety of sound as "the Old Lady", but with a body of my own design. ..or rip off the look of the Billy-Bo. If you don't mind, I'm sure I'll be asking you for pointers. ...constantly.

A ten watt single-ended triode with 6L6's. That's the sort of stereo amp I'd like to try someday. I don't know what it means exactly, but I do know I would need efficient speakers and also that I'd then fit right into one more extra-narrow special interest sub-group of wierdos.

500 rms watts from tubes? Didn't even know it was possible! That thing is a monster, it would heat my livingroom in the winter! If I had the means it'd be McIntosh all the way, probably a set of bridged 275's:

Well it has to do with Amerika' s self absorbtion with the belief
that there is nothing happening beyound our borders.
I've know of and found Grand Prix racing much more interesting
than the oval track.
Running the old Three Banger SAABs in the '60's knew about Road Ralley,
but never saw more than the odd artical in a SAAB dealers Magazine.
Wished that it was a more Publicized Sport in these parts. It is something that
I'd like to do. Even my 11year old says she'd like to do it after seeing the
segment on Top Gear about the Finnish Amature Racing Circut.
Channel Surfing several years back caught a British M/C race on a Track.
But it is too well Hidden. You would follow it if it was offered; and you
cann't track it down. So where does that leave people like me who would
follow if finding it wasn't like pulling teeth.
Side note both of the places near here that had a Bike Nite the past few years
aren't doing it this year. frown

Speed Channel? I'll have to look to see if it's in my plan.
If I have it I'll have to TiVo, too much to do in the afternoon.

RANT: Isle of Man TT coverage?

The IOMTT runs next week, it's 102nd year. Where is the goddamned TV coverage in the US? This is the longest running race in the history of motorsports, many would say the most important and some even consider it the only race that matters.

Speed TV will happily feature slack jawed yokels going around in a circle over and...

Wow 102 years? It is so cool that something like this can last that many years.

I would say that a 102-year-old race would be the most important.

I am very surprised that you cant see this race in the US, hell you can even see people racing ridding lawnmowers.

Great tone, even for a shitty computer recording.

LOL... you're talking to a guy who owns two guitars and can't play either of them. Granted, neither of them are great (a Washburn from a starter kit, and a Jay Turser PRS-22 knockoff), but I can barely hold a chord because of some scar tissue from injuries to my fingers.
