Today marks the 4th anniversary of me not being dead. I still struggle with chronic pain and depression, but it actually feels pretty good to be alive a lot of the time. My nieces have been visiting for the last couple of weeks, and they're such a blast to hang out with. I'd hate to have missed them. I taught the 18 year old how to operate a standard-shift transmission today, and taught her how to solder the other day. Before it's all said and done, I'll teach them how to ride a motorcycle!

On a different note, in a couple of months, I'm thinking about finding a used BMG Red Special (the Brian May knock-off of the Guild knock-off of the guitar Brian May made with his dad) and modifying/upgrading it - weeding out the cheap parts. What I would really like to do, though, is build my own guitar with as much variety of sound as "the Old Lady", but with a body of my own design. ..or rip off the look of the Billy-Bo. If you don't mind, I'm sure I'll be asking you for pointers. ...constantly.
