I'm degreasing.
So far, I've used hot water and Dawn dish soap.
Then more hot water and Dawn.
Then more hot water.
Then more hot water.
Now I've got about a quart of Windex with an extra cup of straight ammonia. I go shake the fuck out of the tank on commercial breaks.
Next up: More hot water, then more hot water, then lots more hot water with a quart of phosphoric acid, which will soak overnight.
Tomorrow, lots of hot water to get the acid out, then a pint of acetone, followed by a pint of methyl ethyl ketone, then the first coat of sealer. After that coat cures, I'll apply another coat and another and so on until I have the whole quart installed. Given time to cure between coats, I should have my tank sealed with new Bondo and paint on the outside about the time we get decent riding weather here.
