Well, I haven't blogged for a long time (especially on SG) so here goes. I'll be posting this badboy on my SG profile, myspace and facebook.
So, where to start? I just got back from training at Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona two days ago. A month of training in the desert had it's ups and downs. The only real good thing that came out of it for me was getting the experience in riding in CH-53 helicopters, and shedding a bit of the flab in the Arizona sun. Most of the ranges we did out there could have been done here in Lejeune, and thus spending $9 million of your taxpayer money to send the battalion (that's 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines for those who don't know yet) to Yuma seems a little stupid. And I still have no idea why they forwarded our mail to us when we were in the FUCKING DESERT. Why would I want to receive a KMFDM shirt I ordered off the internet, or my fucking renewed State of California Automotive Terrorism (driver's) license while training in the middle of the Yuma desert? Makes no sense to me, and frankly pisses me off.
So, we in Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines finally got word on deployment. We ARE NOT going to Afghanistan in support of OEF (which is a blessing in disguise). We are due to go to Iraq this summer (I've heard either Al Karmah or Mosul), with boots on the ground no later than 4 August, 2009. 3/9 will bein Iraq anywhere from 7 months to a year. In that 7 months I plan to finish paying off my car, so I can get out of the military with no debt and go take full advantage of that sweet post-9/11 GI Bill.
For the immediate future, we will ge going to Mojave Viper in 29 Palms in June, and I will be going on leave in July for about 2 weeks. I'll be driving my car back to CA for safe keeping while I am deployed, and I plan on having a couple schweet shindigs before I have to fly back to Camp Lejeune to get ready for deployment.
Other than that, I've got nothing else for you guys. Oh, except that I plan on going to Mayhem in Wilmington with all the creeps, punks and freaks from the Gypsy on the 15th.
If you have any questions, comments or death threats, you know where to send 'em.
btw, that is the most recent image of me I have.
