Linux users, rejoice! I have tested my iPhone 3GS (running 3.1.2) in linux, and got Rhythmbox to see and play music from the device. I have yet to attempt a sync, but that is short order once I get everything from the windows machine. There is a quick tutorial for Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic users here:
