I've been working on a few poems lately and here's the last one I wrote called Child's Gaze.
How I wish I could see life through a child's eyes.
The world full of fortune with painted azure skies.
Instead I am stuck seeing with a blackened heart.
Pictures all the world corrupt, breaking down before the start.
When you are young you never know what this world will do.
Never thinking it will turn as it tries to break you.
Filled with the jeers and taunts of hateful eyes.
This world now surrounds has painted blackened skies.
Instead of the days filled with lollipops and cake.
You're left with bleeding scars while walking in the rain.
Hands left numb from working fingers to the bone.
Just so you can manage to keep your broken home.
