Small grain trucks and small wagons to try to not get stuck.
The entirely steel corn head so we don't break a poly snout when we sink in a mud hole.
Running slow and no float so we can keep as low as possible and hopefully not bury a snout or seven.
Only harvesting downhill, and coming back up hill empty to make sure the combine can make it.
Leaving ruts like I haven't done since high school.
Feeling the machine slide sideways like it was still on those tiny tires combines used to have.
Fighting with the wheel and the split brakes to try to stay on row.
And you know what? I'm glad for the opportunity.
