So my headaches have been getting worse....my head feels just like it did when my pressure was high before i went to the doctor initially. I went to see my neurologist and he thought my shunt was overdraining since i did not show any papilladema (swelling of my optic nerves). This did not make any dense to me since my headaches were not low pressure headaches....anyways he ordered a CAT scan which i had yesterday....
While all that was going on my neurosurgeon's office called to move my appt back a week so i told them what was going on....they wanted to see me right away so i went in today....He thinks that my shunt is not draining enough...which is totally what i think...so he adjusted my valve to make it drain more. I also had to get more x-rays to make sure the shunt did not come out of place. Now I just have to wait and see how i feel...if i dont get better then i have to go get another spinal tap so they can see where my pressure is and we will go from there....
I feel like we are back at square 1...Im sure i am driving my docotors crazy since i am such a rare case of this...most people with my condition are treated with medicine and spinal taps successfully...My neurologist is one of the best in Houston and has been practicing for about 30 years...he sees 2 to 3 cases of what I have (psudotumor) a year and i am the first patient he has ever had to have shunted....and my damn pressure is still running high...
I also just want to say that my girlfriend is stunning
