it is 10:18 right now.
today, i will update this journal on every hour and 18 minutes.
the Grooverider has spoketh.
emmm- spoken...yeah.
11:18 - i'm very excited about the wave of 'broken beats' i'm being exposed to lately. you can check it out here just hit 'listen again :Weds 14th Jan: Fast Forward 2004 ' in the middle of the page.
not too happy about the faggy house vocals they seem to force into every track...
12:18 i was about to write something nasty about people who insist on making bad music but thought better of it. it's a sign of maturity that i can do that.
yuo- i'm a grown up all right.
1:25- i know, i know- i'm 7 minutes late- sorry!
ok- now i have a long distance virtual roommate.
don't even ask...
2:17- thought i'd try to make it a bit earlier this time- just in case.
today is a day of voices from the past.
we had Linz on the comments below, and another surprise- a friend from back home is in the city! haven't seen the cat in a while.
brave guy- finished law school, said fuck everything and decided to become a professional jazz guitrist.
Respect!
see ya in an hour.
3:24- shit - late again! but hang on, something very happy is just happening...
my sister finally got a messanger!!!
i'll talk with her for a bit and get back to you. (explenation- she's half way across the globe- haven't seen her in a while- miss her terribly!)
4:18
This will be my final entry for the weekend.
Hmmmmneed to think of some homework assignment for you guys
ok - got it!
Id like you to try and meditate for 5 minutes at some point over the weekend.
You heard me right.
For some of you, who do it anyway it would be simple, but id like to see the rest!
i know- i know- it's new-agey, hippy and stupid, but whatever- just imagine you're giving ME 5 minutes of your time- that's not too much to ask right?
And dont worry- its easy- just take 5 minutes (not more) sit down at a quiet place- cross legged on the floor or on a straight chair, close your eyes, clear your head and try to concentrate on your breathing.
The most important thing is to observe your thoughts- every time you think of something different then your breathing, just note to yourself-hey- there went a thought
Dont be hard on yourself- take it easy and simply enjoy 5 minutes of quiet breathing.
After youre done- post here and tell me you did it. You dont have to write anything else if you dont feel like it- just write done.
Have a good weekend yall!

how i'd rolled my eyes, and then you said it wasn't enough and then i said how i was rolling my eyes and that was my negativity and then you said don't say anything and then i said it was annoying. i hate to argue arbitrarily (which is funny, to me, in and of itself) but sometimes it's good for clarification, edification, and just plain fun.
(if that's what you meant by "negative thing")
um.
my eeeevening.
i suppose you speak of friday.
i thought it was gorgeous, really. um. i was late, though. my friends showed up at my house and i was the one running behind. but i had to take care of my mom's dogs, so i was just - o well.
it was raining, pretty well, so we left straight away and got to the club in this northern suburb at about 7.30 but the venue wasn't even planning to open doors until 9. so since there wasn't a line and because it was my best friend's husband's birthday, we decided to get food.
i had the really awesome squash enchiladas i mentioned (smothered in cheese, yum) with black beans and rice... but there was just too much food. i was also anxious to be standing in line because i knew it would be crowded eventually and i was waiting on some folks from oklahoma (linz & russel)...
it was raining, pretty hard, and the friends i'd ridden up with were still in the restaurant. i got soaked. i was really okay with that, truthfully, because i love the rain, specifically when it's sixty degrees or greater outside.
um. so yeah, we all got in after standing in line for about oh, maybe forty minutes (?! - i'm bad with timing sometimes) and then got some drinks and watched some bands play and talked to each other and other people and watched some girls dance and laughed and smiled and stood on chairs and had a good time. linz let me stand with her at side-stage for a while, but i was back and forth.
and then i went home, got my car, went to someone's house, fell asleep in the floor, left my car at "someone's" rode home with my best friend and her husband, slept until noon, woke up, ate food, drank coffee, went to the hardware store, got to work... oh... you didn't ask about that part -
so yeah.
what else? i hope i didn't leave anything out - i don't think i did.
i smoked some cigarettes and that was a bad decision. but pheh, i'm over it.
tell me about your weekend?
