We're making this a 'depression free' entry today. So dont fret none, got it?
Busted my ass with the insane Eagles coverage over the last several weeks. Working for a TV station in Philly that has insane people as the decision makers is NOT a cool thing. Last night, our coverage consisted of coming in two hours early and sitting at Chickie and Pete's in South Philly. My soon to be tattoo artist was working, so that was cool. Not to mention the free food and drinks. All in all, it wasnt that bad, considering. I got out around 2am...not enough time to 'party' down, but it could have been worse...even with the birds losing and all.
So, I've planned my trip to Austin for SXSW. The preliminary band list has only just gone up...a few good bands from Philly will be there, which I might show up to. However, Im looking forward to NEW MODEL ARMY playing again. That will be the goddamn BOMB. Those guys are just incredible to behold. Cant wait.
Also on the music front, it looks like Bauhaus, The Cocteau Twins, and New Order have all reformed for the Coachella Fest in Indio, CA next month. While I wont be hitting that up, it gives me hope that the bands will at least do a short tour of the rest of the US. I've never seen NO or CT before, so that would again be the bomb. I caught Bahaus on their reunion tour back in 98. Fucking brilliant, that was. Especailly at the theatre we saw them in, which was in Tampa. It reminded me of the Academy of Music here in PHL. With the Red velvet covered seats and drapes, it made the Bauhaus show that much interesting....and better thatn the goddamn Electric Factory.
