It took damn near a month, but I finally got myself out of the old apartment and into the new one. I 'officially' spent the night at the apartment this Past Sunday night. However, I still had keys, stuff, and obligations at the old house. That was finally completed last night at 330AM with the final few boxes o'crap.
It's a little odd being in Old City/Society HIll. For starters, it took me three minutes to walk over to the SuperFresh to buy laundry detergent and toofpaste. 30 seconds after the purchase, I was across the street at Zeke's Deli, ordering myself a tasty turkey hoagie. 10 minutes after that, I was back in my house. Talk about having some convenience. I even have a liqour store on the same block, not to mention my gym, dry cleaners, and other assorted goodies. The only thing I dont have is a beer store, but I always pick up my brew while working (Stone's in Fairmount). So, that's kindof cool, actually.
Still, Im going to miss my Art Museum/Fairmount/Spring Garden Neighborhood that I've lived in for the past 6 years. It was a great run, and maybe Ill be back there in a few years when I can almost afford to buy a place. But out with the old and on with the new. I hope to be a tad bit more social, now that I'm here in the thicke of things. I'm close to Aponia and her monkey boy, and Sean-E-Fresh isn't all that far away. I've got AKA Records in the general area, and if I get super bored and lonely (which is a constant thing with me) I can wander over to the Khyber in OC or the crap holes on South Street for some company.
I guess things arent all that bad, eh?
