It's been a couple of weeks since my last lame ass diary entry. So, I figured that I'd do a quick update for those two readers that actually give a flying fuck about my postings. In a few days, Ill have a nother full music posting, just for those same two people, BTW.
For the most part, I've been trying to catch up on my writing, music listening, and organization for my move to Society Hill. Yup...I'm leaving my abode here in the Art Museum/Fairmount area where I've hung my hat for the past 6 years. I have a very good living arrangement coming my way...something that I cant afford to pass up. It might just be a year, but it'll allow me to save up money for once.
Speaking of saving up money, I've been doing as much of that as I can since I'm heading out to Germany in two weeks. I'm visiting my Mom who just moved there about a month and a half ago. Goddamn costly, yes...but it's really important for my Mom that I go visit, and I can't dissapoint her. Maybe if I'm lucky Ill catch a World Cup game in Frankfurt...we'll see.
And since I've just mentioned the World Cup, I'll mention that I've watched at least one half of a game each and every day. It's been phenomenal. I competely forgot how much I really do enjoy Football (and not the American version, mind you). Some spectacular games over the past couple of weeks....except for USA's opening match. That was a pathetic piece of shit...at least they made up for that travesty with yesterdays' tie with Italy.
Last night after work, I was able to catch Theo and the Skyscrapers for a gig at the Khyber with Aponia and A_dude. They played for about 30 minutes. Very dissapointing, especially since I really was diggin on the sound. Much different than the Lunachics or the Toilet Boys (members of both bands are present) but fun. Except for the fact that they played for no time at all. Still not as dissapointing at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs show, but a close runner up it is. Im half tempted to NOT support the band by picking up their latest album. And that's very unlike me.
So, remember kids...wherever you go...there you are.
