So busy, so tired, but its all good really. My number two son is due at the end of May so were rearranging the house, setting up nursery space doing hospital tours trying to set up child care for the firstborn etc. etc. In the meantime my schedule's changed at work and Im now, in part, a roving substitute librarian.
This is more stressful because on some days I wont know where Im going to be working until I crawl out of bed and phone in. Then Ill have to find the branch Im assigned to on a map and get there with my brain still groggy. But this, like the baby, is a good, if stressful, thing. Why? Because its the sort of work normally done by the hourly librarians who are the first to get laid off. So what seems to be happening is that branch headquarters is setting me up to fill in for the people about to be laid off. In other words, Im probably not going to be one of them.
