It's not over yet.
(no no, it could have been, but it's not.)
Alrighty, so most of my upgrade is done. I had a bitch of a time getting my motherboard to interface with the new processor. It turns out that i had to flash "teh bios chipset" to make sure "teh computar" would communicate properly to the rest of the components. Unfortunately, in order to accomplish such a task, i had to use a floppy disc... not one of those giant ones, but just one of those 3.5" ones. No one else in the house has one, accept for me. But, the floppy disc technique didn't even work, so i threw in my old processor, installed windows, updated the bios, took out the processor, put in the new one, and presto: i'm back in action.
So yesterday, i put my girlfriend's machine together: she blew a little under $600 on a nice flat 19" monitor, a keyboard, mouse etc, and now her machine is up and running as well.
but i'm not done... no, i could have been done, but i'm not. I saw something on the internet yesterday that i instantly fell in love with and concluded that i wanted it badly enough to justify spending money on it. Yes, a new computer case to complete the deal:
Yeah, it's bells-n-whistles that i obviously don't need... but it looks so damn cool. Almost like that bjork music video All is Full of Love. Yeah, obscure reference, but i love that kind of 3d neo-tokyo-esque design. I have talent for it myself, but i still love it long time.
What's next?
My ass needs some new profile pictures. So, i'm going to see what i can do about that this coming week.
