The advent of technology:
Just got my new video card in the mail today, a day early thanks to FedEx might I add. This month alone, i've spent somewhere around the ballpark of $600 to upgrade my current computer so that my girlfriend would benefit from the hand-me-down parts of what this beast of a machine is still capable. Needless to say, she's pretty excited about having a computer of her own ever since I installed WiFi internet in her lovely three bedroom home.
I got done airbrushing the new color she picked out for her case last night, and now i'm just waiting for it to cure so that i can apply a nice clear-coat over it. She's going out for drinks tonight with one of her friends, so i think i'm going to take the initiative and get everything all put together for her... and well, myself. So, i might be offline for a little chunk of time. The installation and update time for Windows XP Professional keeps getting longer and longer with the advent of newer and far more clever exploits.
In other related news:
While smoking cigarettes, sketching my book and bullshitting with "the boys" I ran into Ramona from SG. She's in the archives currently, but after getting to know her and kicking it with her more often, I've come to find out that she's wanting to get back into doing some shoots for the site. She's had some offers from "the competition," but they won't allow to shoot for anyone else while she's working for them - i guess the drama unfolds to describe "the competition" as a previous partner from SG splitting off and doing his own thing. It's kind of a tricky situation, from what she says. There's no bad blood, but at the same time, she has no points of contact. Of course, being without internet kinda hurts her situation as well. Any ideas would be appreciated.
In work...
Just heard back from the printing company, i'll be getting test prints back from ZooYork pretty soon for a couple limited edition skate decks that i've painted. I've had problems upon problems getting them a format that'll print correctly for their machines - and i'm really hoping that they don't screw it up this time. I'd prefer FedEx over UPS, but project directors can't been choosers it seems. Ha!
I'll be back.
