Okay my rant for the day. After viewing a set by a hopeful who should have been pinked at least 2 sets ago. I thought back to some of the substandard hopeful sets being accepted and no insult to any in particular but a few who were pinked over quite a few who certainly deserved it more. Not just in "looks". That's a small part. What about creativity/originality. Composition and quality of photography. I realize it's not a "photographers" competition but damn near anyone can take a decent picture with a cell phone nowadays.
Ya view a set by a one time wonder and ya gotta wonder how they even managed that one time. Whether the judges were hung over or they forgot their glasses.
To me it's simple. One is either here to be displayed or one is here to see those displayed. Sure there's all the little groups and social stuff to go along with it but it's still pretty much an alternative modeling sight. I look for creativity/originality, composition, presentation and then photographic quality. I've seen great sets shot with a "CoolPix" camera and trash shot with Nikon's, Canon's and my choice Olympus, etc... Here it's all about the "Model". Posing, positioning, presentation from full bod shots to detailing attributes whether ink or piercings etc..
I know from shooting a few sets that they have a guide for the quantity and composition of sets for hopefuls that they seem to have forgotten about.
But it's not my sight and I doubt anyone reads these things anyway so hopefully the hopeful will get her well deserved Pink and continue to produce great sets. And hopefully the judges will wake up and actually review what they're putting out there.
