Well my Birthday looms yet again, another year gone with little progress in my personal life. I have my Father visiting from the US next week so he'll be here for my birthday, other than that it'll be quiet one again.

It's been a bit of a rush getting the house sorted for visitors but they arrive on Monday so there is not much else...

So...is it possible to make it back from the "Friend Zone"???

I've got a friend who I fancy like crazy and we've become pretty close in the past few months. Just want to canvass opinion on how I can get her to see me as more than just a friend? Any ideas???

Seen some quite freaky films recently, grotesque but very arty. One that stands...

HI Padam,

I don't think I'm very good at the flirty thing LOL. I try to be but I feel a bit weird about it. Think I'm too old for her anyway...she's about my age but likes younger men frown.

Begotten is great...if you like that kind of thing. If you like Marilyn Manson you will have already seen some of it coz footage from it was used for the video of Cryptorchid. There's a follow up too, called Din Of Celestial Birds, shorter and easier to watch

miyo:
Thank you blush

I've seen some messed up films in my time but that one might be a step too far for me, maybe i'm getting old! hehe

Just finished watchin an incredible film, Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain. If you've not seen it, it's a few years old now, and you like your entertainment to be complex, philosophical and filled with beatuiful imagery you'll love it. If, on the other hand, The Expendables is your idea of Hamlet don't bother biggrin (Only joking, I like The Expendables toosmile)

Happy Valentine's everybody

Good shout! Will check it out. My favourite movie at the moment is 'Mary and Max' - Aussie animation - dark and beautiful - very thoughtful - MUST SEE.

You'll love it Llew. I'm still looking out for Mary and Maxsmile

Just wandering about the house finding excuses not to redraft an essay on why religion should not define morality. I'm starting to realize that essays are never finished, they are simply always on the way to becoming something else LOL.

Like most of the UK I've got a bit of a cold at the moment, sorry being a bloke that should probably be "have a...

Hey mr. Guess what? I got into Philosophy at the O.U and they are paying my course! YUP! Really chuffed. I must pick your brains brutally from now on. How are you part from this?

(Larrson is incredible, and so are those movies... and so is that GIRL).

Just been reading AnnaLee latest blog and can't believe how much I agree with her on the idea of realtionships. There's this perpetual myth that there is someone out there for everyone but this obviously doesn't mean you'll meet them or that if you do they'll like you in the same way. I'm starting to believe that just accepting that I will be alone is...

Ahhh love is a fickle beast! It seems that most of us spend our lives chasing the wrong person only to discover much later that we've probably already met and missed the one we're supposed to be with. Although your friend may have not returned your feelings, please don't lose all hope just yet because there are still some awesome laydeez out there! kiss

Also, I have a full list of songs that I want at my funeral. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. wink And I want to walk down the aisle to Apocalypticas version of 'Nothing Else Matters'.

Been a bit of a mad week all told. Work has been stressful and today, after about 15 minutes of pushing and pulling, had a tooth removed. So it's lots of fun spitting blood for the rest of the day and dreading when the anaesthetic wears off LOL.

Received my first module for my Masters, so a days rest tomorrow and then it's lots of...

Hope lies eternally.

For the first time in ages I found someone that I like and somehow found the courage to tell her. True to form she doesn't fancy me! frown It's been two years since my marriage ended and this was the first time I thought I'd go out on a limb and do what seems to come so easily to everyone else. She was...

Oh no! Don't take attraction that way. Two of the best people in the world can be put together and it wouldn't work. Because connection is connection, and despite what we are fed via years of being brought up on stereotypes, whether people connect in that way or not is not checklist oriented. Don't let consumerist society make you believe otherwise! These fucking dating shows and bullshit make you think you can just put certain ingrediants into a pot and the soup tastes great. RUBBISH I SAY! Keep heart darl, you are an intelligent, empathetic talented man and if you radiate this essence others will think so too. xxx
greyback:
Thanks for your kind words Llew. I just can't catch a break it seems. I'm one of these freaky people who can't get attracted to someone instantly, I have to get to know them and like them before I can entertain a deeper relationship with them. Problem is I'm obviously more emotionally invested by the time I get to that stage and the seemingly inevitable rejection is all the harder. Statistically some people must have the looks and/or personality to result in being alone, starting to think I may be one of them.

How are you doing? How's the writing coming along?

Oops been a while since my last Blog but there's not really been much to tell. Still single with no sign of that changing anytime soon. What I get for being an introverted geek I guess LOL.

I have put in my application to do a Part-time MA in Philosphical Studies with University Of Wales, Lampeter. Hoping to receive a response from them soon as...

Well I've finally got my In-ear monitors so, as long as the vertigo attacks stay away, I should be able to continue playing in bands for a while longer even though I am nearly deaf in one ear. Thankfully they arrived in time for me to get used to them before the next Theatre gig on the 18th smile

Just had a few days off work...

Had a great day at the Literature and Arts Festival in Hay On Wye yesterday. Saw lectures by philosopher A. C. Grayling (who it was amazing to meet in person afterwards), mathematician Marcus Du Sautoy, scientist Robert Winston, Author Jeanette Winterson and the brilliant Christopher Hitchens.

Whilst all of the lectures were very good I was especially impressed by Jeanette Winterson. She was there because...
