Work is work, and I don't like to talk about it that much. I mean it's work.
But today was just weird.
An Iranian mother and son came through the line with three big boxes of cartons of cigarrettes. . . and a package of maxi-pads. We rang up the order and it came to over three thousand dollars.
The son pulls out a wad of cash that could choke a donkey and starts peeling off twenties, fifties and hundred dollar bills.
I go to load the cart and pick up the maxi-pads and the mother freaks out! She starts telling me that I'm not allowed to touch those and I've "tainted" them.
So then a female front-end assistant had to run and get a new box.
Weird. Well, ok. Maybe not as weird as all that, but I thought it was strange. Seeing all that cash now, that was something else.
