"Met" a member on the site way back in the day and we hit it off pretty well. Started chatting, had some good conversations, then discussed meeting in person. The conversations got a little shorter, a little awkward, then pretty much stopped until the day we actually met in person. The in person meeting was not the smoothest thing in the world and while there was no romantic connection, it wasn't exactly a bad time. Once we were back in our prospective hidy-holes, we pretty much stopped talking and now don't talk at all. I just looked at this member's journal and I have been removed from the friends list. I'm not sure what I did wrong and am wondering whether it's worth persuing.
How "real" are these virtual friendships? I remember being hurt by the whole thing when it happened, but now I can't remember why. Any opinions?
There's been some talk of an SG cupid flying around the site hooking folks up, but so far that damn winged bastard has shot me in the eye. Twice. Fucker.
