Your breath smelled like black licorice when I tip-toed up to kiss you. A hand rested upon my neck, our eyes were closed and we slowly came together. Once my lips reached their destination, I suddenly forgot how cold it was around us. You looked at me shyly and asked if it was alright and I responded with another kiss, this time harder. The lights went out and we were left standing in the midst of the orange streetlights that poured into the building. We were so close, I could almost feel our hearts beat in unison. Your hands led me to believe I was safe and your words reassured me. And in that moment, I wasn't worried about anything.
