Goodness, it's been a while since I've posted here! LOL Time flies when you're busy most of the time!!
What's new here? Nothing... LOL I'm still working at the store and finally got some interviews last week for a counseling position! YAY! It seems promising, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up since I've been disappointed so many times over the past few years.
I'm also coming up on the four year anniversary of being canned from my mental health job after 14 years of being there... And of course the lovely HR department (we worked for the same employer) had waited until the day after my wife started a six week sick leave due to surgery so they could maximize our pain.
Every day when I'm struggling with the bills and calls from the credit card, etc companies I'm reminded of how nice they were to me! No warning, no prior problem, just a meeting a short suspension pending investigation and you're fired. And even having my record cleared means nothing when there are lots of folks are out of work here in Michigan and the competition is fierce for even professional jobs! I quit counting the number of openings I've applied for when I hit 200 last fall...
Bitter? You bet!!
Moving on...
I did something like four model shoots this summer and only one followed up with me as far as responding that she actually got the CD of images we made. As a result I've changed my model release to say I would be free to select from the images made for posting in my online portfolios. I used to have it so I could select from the images they chose for retouching and printing, but if they don't tell me, then I couldn't post anything! And I generally put six to eight hours into a shoot with the shoot itself, travel, planning and post-shoot images enhancing.
From talking to other photographers who do TFP or CD (time for prints or CD) shoots, they have the same things happen to them.
I've shot a LOT of high school football this season and have something like 2,000 images at my digiproofs.com page. It's password protected since most of the players and students are under 18 and I want to protect the privacy of minors! Friends can message me for the link and password if they're interested in looking at my football pictures.
We still have the five kitties here and they keep things interesting around the house! Four like to drink from the bathroom sink faucet, so it can get a little wet in there! LOL I've got a couple of pictures of it here and need to add more once I get some better ones shot!
Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings.... Comments are always welcome.
