My dreams lately seem to be based on the idea that I need to be in a relationship in order to straighten things out. This is a complete lie and I wish my subconscious was real so that I could straighten IT out.
Last night, I dreamed I was in Sydney, Australia doing a press tour for Peter Jackson's new King Kong. Apparently he had hired a ton of LOTR people to appear in the movie, because I drank wine with Viggo and followed John Rhys-Davies around on a beach, interviewing him.
Why I was a studio reporter, I'll never know. I've never even dreamed of the job. But the more I think of it, it MUST be a real job. When the studio puts out press releases, SOMEONE writes them and SOMEONE gathers the quotes.
Anyway, it was this huge Cannes/Sundance festival and I was covering it, being a bitch (some people made me carry their coats...like 6 coats), and just having fun hanging out with stars.
But when I was interviewing J.R-D., I looked out over the beach at the fading sunset (insert Harlequin romance line here) and I swear to god, it was one of those moments. IN A DREAM. You don't have moments like that in a dream. I don't know why I did, but I did. There was a girl there, obviously either some rich girl or an actress, in a black dress that was way too revealing and she looked horribly bored.
I fell down, face first into the sand!
"Oh my god," I said to John, "I can't move. I just saw the most beautiful woman in the world."
And she heard it and started looking at me. And then she walked away to this open air hotel near the beach and I found her sitting on a couch, sipping wine. And I sat down. AND I LAID IT ON THICK.
I got the girl, I think. And yes, she was an actress. But I've never seen her. I've never seen her face in a movie (at first, I thought she was Julia Stiles with brown hair, but I was wrong...Julia Stiles looks like a retard and this girl had a completely different voice). Weird.
So the moral of the dream....you know you'll analyze it. Go for it.
