At 11:30pm on June 25th, 2008... My Uncle Charlie passed away after a longtime battle against cancer.
I just spent the whole weekend up in Sandusky for the funeral services. It seemed like everyone was there: The VFW, The Elks Club, The Eagles Club and the Knights Templar. The VFW honored my uncle's member with a 21 gun salute, in which one of the soldiers gave me one of the 21 bullets (the rest were given to the rest of my family). All of the services were beautiful.
But it wouldn't be a family gathering without drama:
When my Uncle passed were not informed until 24 hours later and not by Sharron (Uncle Charlie's Wife)... by someone named Beth, who was helpful enough to inform us of when and where the funeral services would be held.
When we entered the funeral home during the first day of the services, we were stopped before entering. Which pissed us all off because it seemed like we were being turned away. Then inspite of my Great Grandmother (Uncle Charlie's Mother) the casket was closed by my Aunt Sharron, which the funeral director forced her to open it back up for us to see him.
My Cousin April (Uncle Charlie's Step-Daughter) is now A.J (Uncle Charlie's Step-SON).... and he was hitting on me until he realized who the fuck I was.
My Aunt Pattie got into a fist fight with Uncle Charlie's sister-in-law, who I will refer to as Don Vito because the fat whore looked like his long last twin, over the Guest book because we fixed the "typos" that Sharron put into the book.
During one of the VFW speeches, the gentleman said "Pitching a tent" which made me giggle/get in trouble with my Great-Grandmother.
During the family luncheon: Aunt Pattie, Aunt Chrissy, Uncle Bob, Uncle Darrell and Myself did nothing but rip Don Vito, Sharron and all of their family apart. Which caused us to be in an uproar the whole time... Surprisingly, the grandmother's did not scold us for that... possibly they were just as pissed off as we were.
So yes.. that was my wonderful wonderful weekend.
I do want to thank everyone for all of the comments, private message and phone calls. It is all greatly appreciated. I love you all and once again thank you!
