Simple question, right? There are lots of things people will list: good health, good job, being happy. These things are important to all of us but they seem kinda of cliche. I mean, we all are thankful for these things, if we are lucky enough to have them.
I was very sick when I was younger. But nowadays, I am all good. Love playing hockey or golfing with the boys. My job is good and I like the people I work for and with. I am genuinely happy with where I am in my life.
That all said, I think as thanksgiving approaches and fall/winter (it’s really all just one big season lately) really begins to hit the northeast, I realize there are more important things to be thankful.
The person who invented remote start for my car. Thank you, good sir. Your work is something I can put a value on. $199 plus tax. Good stuff.
Or the first person who saw those delicious beans and thought, fuck it, let’s roast these things and then grind them...only to pass hot water through the subsequent ground up bean and drink it. Maybe it was Juan Valdez, or maybe it wasn’t, but whomever it was, you are a legend in my book.
Lastly, as I watch the blackhawks play the rangers, I am so thankful for the love of my life. Ice hockey. Oh and grateful that the blackhawks, who I am not even a fan of) just scored twice in minutes. Fuck the rangers. As for me, I’m not great. I’ll never be more than a beer leaguer, and that doesn’t matter. Like my gin and tonic, life is better with ice...unless you’re driving. Then it sucks. But seriously. Hockey is life. And music. And beer. Ok so there’s a ton of good stuff.
Anyway, this is my first crack at a blog and it probably sucks, but hope y’all have a great thanksgiving🦇🦇🦇
