So I've been back for a coupla weeks. I brought back priceless wisdom, cheap souvenirs, and a beard. When people ask me how it was, my response is, "Perfect." Guatemala is an exceptionally beautiful country, and it's very much not the United States for an added bonus.

I'll probably end up inadvertently blogging about the most interesting parts of the trip - the rest is...

So I make this post about how great life is about to be, and about how I'm going to stop lurking, and then I lurk more. I'm a bad Internet friend.

I guess I should just find some boards or groups that are

A) really awesome, and
B) really active.

So far they're one or the other, but I still have a sneaky feeling that...

I'm thinking of coming back alive down here. I just quit my day job - as of the new year, I will be a full-time DJ. December will be spent salivating over the idea of having twenty hours a week of floating "practice time" and then not having anything to do except listen to fresh music and play with friends.

This means I'd love to...

Happy birthday!

Full-time DJ. That sounds awesome. I've always wanted to learn how to do that kind of thing.

I missed your B-day?! Happy Birthday! Happy New Year; come back to us!

I've been lurking.

Between crafting coffee, crafting ambiance, and crafting a kickass costume for a party this weekend, I am feeling very crafty. Life has been about growing as of late. Soon I will execute my Super Sneaky Plot and end up with ridiculous amounts of money and free time.

Back later. For now: crafting!

How are you, sweetie? smile

I asked the terrifyingly beautiful girl next to me if she wanted to come out to a wine bar and flashcard the Arabic alphabet. She made some excuses that seemed quite a bit like she was turning me down for a date. I almost told her that I'm looking for a study partner, not a girlfriend.

Granted, she is terrifyingly beautiful and I'd be lying...

How can we do something?!

How you considered investing in Pro Tools? I have this feeling that you could probably make great rhythm tracks.

Went through the local section today to see who has profiles in Bellingham, WA. Not sure exactly why I went through - I can't think of anyone offhand who seems to subscribe to the right sort of neophiliac kickassery. Which is not to say someone wouldn't have popped up. And of course it would have been a white lie to suggest that I wasn't going...

I've been a real squishy layabout today. I basically sat around, encased in soup bouls and teacups and beer bottles, hacking away at the setlist for this new DJ gig I have tonight. Unlike the rest so far, this one will be at a non-dancing bar - that means opportunities to play stuff without the risk of clearing a dance floor. In other words, I'll...

Maybe we can do some long-distance music collaboration.

Spent this morning waking up around people I love. Got home, got ready to clean room, take shower, beat feet and get promoting.

Flame wars abound on blogs around me. My bosses are playing "Hobo Wars," an online combat web game in which you get to make fun of the mentally ill and dispossessed. Basically, people around me are trying real hard to justify fucked-up...

Spending all day today fantasizing about opening a college run strictly by the savvy and hip; the entire faculty would consist of DJs teaching music, SGs teaching seduction and burlesque, rockstar baristas teaching food science. Guys like Danger Mouse would teach audio engineering and acoustics. By the time I can acquire the clout and the investors to start said university, a big pack of SGs...

Put a couple of amazing-looking books on hold today. One is a book about mushroom farming (bwahaha!). The other is an encyclopedia of tales, advice, and information about how to conduct a revolution using information technology and social networking.

The latter book looks just like House of Leaves. I take this as a good sign; especially so if I can get just as lost inside.
