I went to see Mad Max: Fury Road this past weekend, and a definite highlight of the film was the character Imperator Furiosa (played by Charlize Theron). I loved that while she was not without her weaknesses, she was overall a strong, thoughtful and well-rounded character. Not only that, but she pulled it off while being incredibly sexy...with a buzz cut! Rocking a buzz cut myself, I often find images of sultry, long-haired heroines hard to identify with. Don't get me wrong, plenty of these ladies are just as well crafted and inspiring as Furiosa's character...but there is just something so wonderfully affirming in seeing a babe like Theron portraying a sexy ideal, and doing so without the aid of luscious locks. I for one left the theatre feeling that much sexier myself.
