busy as usual.
a bit disappointed, in November, when snow had begun to fall, the mister and I decided we wanted to take the miss to the mount ains, to learn to ski. we discussed Mammoth.
HOWEVER....we wanted to invite friends. their jobs and finances made mammoth not such a good idea. then I got the job at Home Depot..which solidified the decision to make it a short trip to big bear.
we found a cabin, reserved it and have made plans to go there for the weekend.
'cept...there's NO SNOW! sure, they have man made...but it's a 12" base. It is supposed to snow this weekend. on the day we have arranged lessons for three kids under nine.
I suspect this trip will be a bit of a buzz-kill.
But as usual, we WILL make the best of it. The friends we are travelling with are ALWAYS fun, even in the worst of circumstance.
It's been years since I've skiied or snowboarded, my equipment long given away, but we still have the "gear"...
it should be entertaining...my snow pants are the slick, tight tuck-in bibs with a clever waist length parka.
I'll be boarding RETRO folks..., circa 1997!!
I just don't see any reason to spend ooodles of cash on new stylish gear...I'm not sure we'll make enough use of them to warrant it.
other fun news...we'll be ringing in the New Year as we used to traditionally. in the mountains.
yaay!
