Busy busy busy....
Starting the new job this morning, three days, 9-5 for orientation. found out the dress code is not as expected....
was looking forward to wearing jeans, casual tops and work boots...but no. Seems Home Depot has gone "corporate", since I'll be in "kitchen & bath", working as liason to the designers, my dress code is collared shirts, black slacks and work boots......

PS - black padded-collar Red Wing 607 work boots are exellent on concrete floors and hold up to abuse for years.

I hope the first days on the job were 'rewarding'. smile

I hate dress codes too, but who would have thunk it. wink

I got a job.

a real, paycheck, a real schedule.

I'll get out of the house more.

I'll take to real, speaking, breathing and hopefully, somewhat intelligent humans.

I'm not anti-social, I'm not a hermit.

I've just worked, from home, running our business and being an at home, present and availiable mom for the last, oh...7 years?

Since '97, when I left a job working...

Home depot...my playground. I've directed folks looking for things there as well. I can tell you, row by row, back, main and friont section.

it's scary really. but we've restored 3 '40's era homes. so we've spent many a day and night there.

I'll be a plumbing spcialist, helping customers with their kitchen bath stuff, when they aren't designing entire kitchens etc.. sorta qualifying customers to keep the designers free for the major projects.

I hope it didn't sound like I'm making the mister out as a baffon. in reality, he's the better parent. She's just used to me and I doubt he's even aware of all the minutia in the day to day.

good luck with the job. I do hear mostly good stuff as far as how Home Depot trreats the employees.

we'll see.

I didn't mean at all that I thought you disresppected your hubby's parenting contributions. Actually, I meant that I've been learning how much there is to do, day-in and day-out, myself.

Topanga Canyon, Sagebrush Cafe, Malibu via PCH.

This is how we celebrated being married 14 years. Took the bikes and some good friends on an all day ride, Sunday brunch, oyster shooters, mango vodka (just one for me) and crab legs...

of course, it was a bit of a challenge. having celebrated our anniversary in the more traditional of ways..me bits were a tad tender...so...

wow!
sounds like my idea of a near perfect day. I'm so happy for you.
wyatt:
I agree. That's how to celebrate an anniversary!

I went to one of the best weddings ever...

it was elegant and stylish and upscale..., and yet it was personal, ecclectic and reflected the bride and grooms personality...

it was on the water, in Coronado, the food was DELISH! the guests included elegant parents and family friends, as well as the young and funky...
at one point, I took a photo of skateboards tilted...

FINALLY got my bike and truck IN the trader... i hope both sell quickly...but I'm notcounting the money yet....

registering the two new bikes was a pretty penny...selling my old bike is what I'm counting on once my credit card bill comes in... despite the "winning" of the bikes, the TAXES and liscensing was a shocker....

also, both bikes are going to the authorised dealer...

I'd have to go with Stiles on this one with reference to Magnuson-Moss warranty act.

And the burden of proof is on them, BTW.

I think it is a crock of shit either way, since even HD doesn't require you to use them for maintenance.
calireject:
Hey, is the truck a Black 2003 4WD??

I think I saw it in the 'trader.... wink

ya know...I wonder why I keep my membership going...

I think it's perhaps because of the existance of the SGMC group...I love to read about everyones trip and tribulations on their bikes...

Just got home from a whirlwind trip to STURGIS... much fun was had, a few close calls on the drive there...including the trailer doing a fishtail and causing my truck to literally HOP...

As am I. I've come and gone out of this state 4 times, and I am about to leave for the final time (if I can help it).

I've got about 60 days until I leave (give or take) and I am anticipating it with great relish!!

this evening I was more angry than I have been in YEARS...

really. I cannot recall a time in recent years where my face flushed, my hands shook and my blood boiled over such an assinine occurance.

orange county traffic is just...horrifying...

I wasn't even on the freeway... just trying to get the 1.8 miles home from the drugstore, on Chapman ave, on graduation day,...

DAMN YOU.

I actually thought you were in Dodge ... and was like ... hell ... she moved - and closer to me. Maybe I can somehow convince her to move here.

GRRRR.

BTW - don't feel too bad ... months ago I was in my dads truck on the local highway going like .... 120 km per hour ... (uhhh ... like ... 170mph I guess) and some guy cut us off.

So what did I do? Rolled down the window, stuck my head out, looked back and started giving him the finger ... but stopped as I watched my glasses being sucked off my face by the vortex of the wind and then smash onto the ground and get run over by the car that cut us off.

$350 later I had a new pair of glasses and a newfound respect for wind speed.
abadinfluence:
Believe me ... the $350 wasn't funny, as I was just on the cusp of breaking out of my debt and that set me back another month.

However, looking back on it, it was funny as fuck.

Hence why I have no issues yapping about it.

well! this is gonna be a different weekend...

I've been yearning to stay home...we've just been driving and driving, going somewhere...

I also got sun poisoning from a sunburn on memorial weekend...

so I was looking forward to a weeknd home, working around the house...being lazy

Yet... when the mister came home from work with a wild hair, and decided he was gonna take off...

Well ... that does sound quite shitty ... other than the hallucination part ...

Maybe you just need to employ some giant guy like me to walk around near you and block all the sun for you?

Darn! I didn't get on the site until now...i would have loved to go to Ciro Carnival...i went last year and worked at a friend's booth. I never know when stuff is, because i don't go to Tribe.com much anymore.

I don't think i can do Monday, because i'm car pooling into OC with Jim. Sorry. I'll see what my week looks like and give you a ring.

Hope you had a good weekend. smile
