I did absolutely NOTHING for my birthday! It was glorious. I know I said I was going to go out but I really didn't feel like it. I simply got drunk at home and played my ukulele, taking advantage of the fact that all my housemates were at Burning Man.
I've also been spending my time enhancing public property in the night (or defacing... depending on your level of appreciation for art forms...) I'm gonna do a masterpeice
No, really.
I've also been spending a ridiculous amount of time learning sign language. I think I'm in school mode and feel the need to be productive, yet my classes are few and very little work so far.
So on another subject... I've been planning on applying for the Peace Corps for a long time now. However, when I was in New York seeing my family, a close friend of mine from high school was telling me about a program that is sending him to teach English in Japan for a year. I've already been to Japan and I've been trying to learn Japanese for a long time now. I think if I teach English in Japan for a year, a place I've been to and somewhat understand and then join the Peace Corps after that, I will be better able to help a developing country. I'm thinking English is a little easier to teach to kids in a wealthy country than it is to teach the methods of HIV transmission to people who think the cause of AIDS is "poverty."
