Brian Healy is a rock star,
That is the one response that everyone asked seems to give when asked about Dead Artist Syndrome, While it may have little to do with being rich (hes not) or even that famous he clearly has that swagger and talent that draws people to that conclusion that he is a musical icon of the first degree.
For over 15 year Healys project Dead Artist Syndrome has been lurking in the underground of the Goth scene in the North America and Europe producing 5 incredible albums and a whole lot of controversial press, His first Album Prints of Darkness is consider a classic selling around a hundred thousand copies worldwide and thanks to an off hand public comment by the late Roz Williams Healy became labeled the father of Christian Goth. While not fond of the label, Healy has maintain a large audience in both the mainstream and Christian music markets. Healy will always be a profane saint at best.
Musically Dead Artist Syndrome is old school Goth/punk of the early London scene of the Dammed-Joy Divisions Bauhaus-Sisters-Dead Boys mode with just enough firm rooting in the 70s glam rock of Bowie, Alice Cooper and Roxy Music to make you wonder if he was a character in Velvet Goldmine in a past life.
Strong lyric and songwriting are what sets DAS apart from the pack as well as a healthy desire to bite the hands that feeds them with a total devil may care attitude that has Healy drinking or praying with the best the music scene has to offer.
DAS is currently going into the studio with Frankensteins L Ron Jeremy to record their newest CD Kissing Strangers They also appear on the Los Anarchy completion and will be playing in LA this summer and fall.
