So interesting morning we had... full of adventure as always just me and my B. We went over to Rainbow lake to feed the very starving ducks/geese. The weather was actually really nice at about 8:30. After we were done she asked if she could stick her toes in the water so we went to the dock. A cute little grey and white cat was a friendly stranger on this nice October morning. Whist toe dipping, a boat approached us and said they had just caught a pike and they were staying at a hotel so they couldn't cook it or throw it back. And asked if we wanted it?? For a second I thought about saying no... I've never gutted or cleaned a fresh fish, but then the adventure side kicked in.
Surely someone could help, and if not there's always you tube.
So we put the still wiggling fish in our empty bread bag and dashed home.
Needless to say after keeping it alive barely for about 15 minutes, we gutted it, cleaned it, filleted it and it is now in the oven! Beatrix was a trooper and watched the whole thing. It made me feel so accomplished to have done this, without any knowledge of how to originally and without getting queasy.
all I can say is man I need sharper knives and better scissors! but what an adventure! Never a dull moment here, that's fo sho!!!

You're very cute as well! The quote is from a Marilyn Manson song, but it pretty much describes me haha
Sounds like you had a good morning, enjoy your fish!
