Is this a public act, or a private act? What are my intentions? For whom am I updating?
Whatever.
I deeply dislike my current job. The benefits are amazing, the actual work is decent -- if not mind-numbing -- and I don't have to deal with "customers" (those "people" who eat and act like horrible children in public and think they are superior to to the (real) people who prepare and present food). Most of my co-workers are acceptable, and even the bosses are good people at heart.
However, lawyers can't read clocks or calendars, and their arrogance is only surpassed by their conceit. Everything I do is in an "emergency" because the jurists can't plan, meet a deadline, or comprehend reasonable expectations.
And, before someone from the legal people's group says something to the effect of, "that firm sounds crazy... not all of us are like that," the firm is in great shape. I have the distinct feeling that -- I am not afraid of generalizing in this case -- all lawyers are like this.
Advice for a person thinking about becoming a paralegal: DON'T. Paralegal is Latin for "adult daycare personnel." An orderly in a state home for the insane deals with more rational human beings than a paralegal does. Junior high teachers are less stressed.
Arrrg!
Enjoy your work-day! Especially if you are a paralegal, a junior high teacher, a server or, and orderly.
All work is honorable.
Whatever.
