Why do so many of the groups insist that you have a profile pic, a current blog and that you've been a member for at least a month before they'll let you join?
I don't have a profile picture. Why does that make me unsuitable to join, for example, a group that admires plus size women? I don't want a profile picture because i don't want certain people to identify me on this website. Does that mean I'm not good enough to like PSW? Is it a security thing? Do they think that having a blog and a profile pic makes you less likely to behave like an asshat in the group discussions? Do they think that not having a blog makes you less likely to get involved in the discussions? And of that's the case, why does it even matter whether or not you get involved? What's wrong with just wanting to read the discussions and look at the pictures?
It all just seems a bit unnecessary to me.
