Ever notice that I post more journals when I'm unhappy? Well, my journals are spacing out over more days now, so I guess that's a good sign.
My friends, especially the SG Philly people, must have noticed by now that I haven't been offering my place for parties or as an event location.
All the parties I've been to recently (over the past few months) have made me ashamed of my Little Apartment. Even when it is clean, it is still cluttered and cramped and not very nice. I think back to the parties I've had and it's embarassing to me. Everyone sits on the floor cuz there are not enough seats. The kitchen inevitably turns into a cattle chute. The party spills out onto the stairs outside.
What the hell was I thinking, having 60+ people at my house each November? A great number of the people who come to these parties don't stay long. It's just not a comfortable space. And there's nothing I can do about it, except have parties in the backyard maybe.
That idea to have a formal cocktail party was a fun idea... but it could never happen at my place. That would just be ridiculous.
And it's not even just the huge events that suffer from the lack of space. Even a movie night or game night is awkward here. My TV is small and the couch is short. I don't have a proper table on which to play games.
Even so, there is a Goob Party scheduled for May 12th.
Reason for party = 5 Year Anniversary of my Little Apartment (a little early, cuz i actually moved in May 31, 2001)
also: I have plastic grapes hanging above the couch in the living room. Sometimes I think that's just the dumbest thing ever, and other times I think it's so fucking cool I should win a medal. What do you think?
