So greetings from the UK. I got my laptop all set up here at the hotel and have overcome a huge case of jet lag/hangover.
I'll be here for 10 days recording. The Rich Guy as I shall call him has gone all out. This journey is not a cheap one for him and I'll do the best job I can for him. I met the engineer I will be working with at studio 3 and got the full blown tour of the place. It even has a restaurant! But for artists and recording engineers and not the general pubic. It will make me 3 squares a day. Mostly Pub style but I am not picky.
I could not sleep so I took a small tour of the neighborhood, found a pub. And within 15 minutes someone recognized my Drag the River shirt I had on and chatted me up. Met a fine irish lass that liked lucero. Funny how that does not happen in Denver that much. And she was not intimidated about where I was working. She was curious.
I have next weekend free and am going to head up to Glasgoo to see some old buddies there. As long as I am not drinking scotch out of pint glasses life will be perfect.
Funny too I dumped the green hornet for a 93 Range Rover. I think my days of crazy 4 wheeling are over. So I got a tank for the snow and towing my yacht to the yacht club
I also met Jeremy Clarkson on the flight over. He was 2 rows up from me and met him in the line for the loo. I have been a Top Gear fan for a long time and he said to call his secretary next week and see if I can get into a taping of the show.
So now all I need to do is meet Amy Winehouse and compare notes....heh. Ok off to sleep and tomorrow we begin. Fingers crossed it is not a nightmare.........
