I for once am enjoying a few days off, one of my oldest girl buddies in the world is here from a year of teaching english in turkey. She is trying to get some stories published of her times there and beyond.

We are off for the weekend down to telluride and ouray for some ice climbing and telly skiing, back country skiing. And then to aspen for a toast to the doc on the way back.

We go back a long way, Have lots of friends in common...I even have her lasooed to help me out in Jamaica for 10 days.

And maybe on the road in April in Europe doing merch. Kind of nice having a running partner.......

Then it is off to Jazz Fest in NOLA for the Party to End all Parties.......I can say that will be a good time.......

I think my problem has been not really having anyone aroune to relate to. SXSW was really left to the Emo league. There is another generation out there doing sound making the deals and old farts like me just get in the way...not of progress but trying to keep them from making crappy music. So they can have it...

I have enough to keep me busy and not try and produce the next AFI or Modest Mouse......I have been told and I know I tend to lean towards the heavier stuff, those looking for an old punk sound or something that resembles crazy horse........or old melvins.......

So now I will go and celebrate being an old fart by cranking up a Pogues show I got from the 930 club in DC........
