So even though my birthday is not until Tuesday, I had a happy happy party last night. (Tuesday I'll be leaving the house at 7am and discussing dissertations all day, so I had to get the party in while I could!)
Had great diner food at Union picnic -- the most charming hipster truckstop in NYC. And then had beers bought for me and quarters given to me to play Frogger, Donkey Kong, and Asteroid (no Super Mario Bros -- it was broken) at Barcade. People from grad school, improv, and friends of my future roommates all showed up. I barely even noticed my boyfriendlessness because it was so filled up with friends.
The only problem was both of my birthday shagging possibilities left too early before I could even try to work on them. Because I was single for 5 years before my last bf, I used to think people who were like "Oh my god, I haven't had sex in *two months*, I'm dying" were so full of shit. But I haven't had sex in two months! I'm dying!
