Well I suppose gekko's right, it's probably time I updated. I didn't realise it'd been that long.
I think I might change the way I keep my journal and start writing in it day to day, as opposed to saving it all up over a couple of weeks and then unloading on ya. My memory struggles to recall what a did last night, never mind last week.
Anyways, here goes. I was out on a stag do the weekend before last, which was well naff. I had to drag myself to spearmint rhino (I aint joking either), it was just too fake. The girls, the punters, the accents, proper seedy. Needless to say the only money they got out of me was put behind the bar and at 3 quid for a bottle of becks, they got a fair amount. Then after spending about a half hour in some trendy ass bar, not being able to move for the amount of people, they expected me to que to get into another with even more people inside. Not likely boys, I got me a taxi home and was in bed by 01:00. To top it all off, I found out that I'd missed deadline playing in Brum that night, gutted. stewed you're gonna have to keep aware of these things girl.
The gig front's been as busy as ever though. Went to see Vanilla Pod the other week but they didn't show, so Failsafe from Preston turned up instead and impressed no end. Finch were a lot better than expected and definately a lot more metal than expected. And then last night I was treated to a night of excellent skacore. I actually went to see The Mercury League, who were supporting Howard's Alias, but they cancelled (seems to be happening a lot in Birmingham recently), so I was left with Howard's Alias, Sonic Boom Six, Grown At Home and 3dbs Down, all of wich were damn good.
I'm just trying to decide wether or not I want to go see Napalm Death next week?
I've decided I'm going to take up Kung Fu. There's a guy in Birmingham who teaches on a one to one basis, it's 20 quid an hour but it's proper Shoalin shit and he's been a instructor for 20 years with all the right qualifications so it should be cool. I want to do it for mental and fitness reasons, rather than just learnig to kick ass. I've done boxing before and that tends to focus on aggression more than anything (especially at an amateur level), so I wanted something that's gonna focus my mind and improve my concentration and motivation. I also wanna curb my alcohol intake and hopefully this give me a reason to start doing more phys and less drinking.
I've been thinking about selling my car over the last week and getting something a bit cheaper. I'm living in hall of residence at the moment and I want to move out and get my own place. I thought if I sell my motor I'd be able to free up a bit of cash to finance the move. The thing is I drive a Mazda RX-8 and I really love it and I don't wanna just trade it in for a boring golf or astra, so I'm thinking I wanna buy a classic. I really want something like a Ford Mustang or a Cheve Corvette or Camaro, but I'm a bit worried how practical it would be to run one. I could probably pick a nice one up for between 8 and 10 grand, but it's the hidden costs of owning a 35-40 year old car. How sweet would it be though, cruising round the UK in a '67 Mustang.
It seem's like y'all doing ok anyway, I do read all your journal updates, even if I don't always comment. I just feel like I don't come across right in text. I always think I sound like a pretencious prick when I read what I've written so usually don't end up posting it. I'll try and be a bit more responsive in future, but I've probably been spending a lot of time with Hollie the last couple of weeks, so that'd explain my lack of updates.
Take care, especially you kids in London, we don't want any of you gettin' blown up now do we? Oh, and yeoman let me know if you're available for drinks next month.
