GIRLS, and boys:
I can't emphasize how important it is for you to feel 100% confident in your artist.
I had been looking for someone for awhile and this guy said he could do what I wanted so I decided to give him a shot. We didn't have a good vibe, I thought I'd still feel it out.
I asked him some questions that may have felt awkward but hell, your going to be permanently changing my body I should be able to run a background check if I want. In the past I have had people tattoo me who were addicts and I literally have scars so, I'm gonna ask.
After that he got jittery, and even though everyone in the room had no problem having a conversation with me he couldn't. He told me I hurt his feelings and that he couldn't do the appt anymore because I had made him have a panic attack. So that being said it was def better that I asked. Otherwise who knows what could've happened. If you don't have an open relationship with your artist I'm sorry but it's just not going to work. There were other red flags but I won't get into those.
Point is you should never be afraid to voice your concerns or anything when it comes to something like this.
I have found someone I vibe with and I have rescheduled an appt for June 24th. We have exchanged ideas, he has been realistic about what he can do, and we clicked. He made me feel comfortable. That's so important.
So remember be your own advocate. Always.
