a good monday morning at last. In Dublin the last couple of days doing some freelance work (something i should have got into a long time ago) back to london in the next couple of weeks..yipeee...must get my gig guide out and plan some serious sessions. Friends around for the weekend too, plus international rugby on tv (ireland vrs england folks, the ultimate grudge match) hopefully i'll be hoarse from that mystical combination of good wisky and screaming my support at the tv.
finished reading "cryptonomicon" by neal stephenson, its got my mind all a twitter (despite the worst ever sex scene ever written...really it was like erotica for star trek fans). anyway the book reminded me that history can sometimes seem like the sum of its contradictions....e.g. irish slaves sent to jamica in the 16th century. 400 years later you get Jamacan rastas with red hair and freckles called 'redz'.
listening to the "little wings" at the moment..sublime......
(just reading my entry...jesus h.macillicudy christ "sublime" what made me use that word..pretentious or what? it sounds like i should be reviewing opera or wine....hmm "with a fruity well bodied woodie taste...sublime")
