Once apon a time there was a princess named Sarah.
She was a kind hearted girl who's amazing soul outshined her gorgeous exterior. One day Sarah was playing in the forest when she overheard sobbing coming from a patch of ferns in the near distance. She thought to her self whatever could be making such a pitifly sad sound. Her emerald eyes glistened in the sunlight as she peered through the ferns. Sarah saw a lone goat sitting apon a large mushroom as if it was a footstool. Warm tears flowed down his cheeks leaving a salty trail across his lips. The poor creature, half startled by the aproaching princess, jumped to his feet intending to run. "Hello kind creature of the forest, do not be afraid." Sarah spoke softly. "I mean you no harm, why do you sit before me and cry?" The goat wiped a hoof across his eyes drying them. "I cry because in all of this enchanted forest I can find no other to share it's beauty with." "I long for just even a few fleeting moments of kindred companionship." Sarah ran her fingers through the goat's hair and smiled widly. Her heart saw an inner beauty that the other creatures of the forest had bothers to notice. "Fear not fair goat," she said "for I shall be your friend, come play with me." The goat could hardly believe his floppy ears. "I would be honored to share your company, you are the kindest person I have ever met, princess." The goat and Sarah scampered off into the forest frolicking together for many days to come. The both wondered what the people of the kingdom would think if such friends ever were to be seen openly together at the castle, for mixed company there was frowned apon. A princess and a goat?! Who would ever dream of such a travisty? Alas, as the time they spent together playing amongst the trees in the magical woodland, thier concerns diminished until one day the princess spoke. Her lips were like sweet nectar to the ragged animal's ears. "My dearest goat, how would you like to accompany to my castle tonight for a festival with the king and queen?" "You will be my guest of honor and dance with me at the ball." The goat thought momentarily about this propsition, having never been givin such an offer he hardly knew what to say. "Fair Sarah...I would be...nothing but honored." As for how the banquet went, what all the royalty said at the sight of a common goat dining at thier table, the talk of what a princess could possibly see in such a beast....all of this is yet to be written....let us hope though...that these kind souls have a happy ending.
