No shit. There is nothing wrong with the name Rapids. It is not a horrible name that needed to be changed, like Burn. Uniforms look like Aston Villa now.
Since Liverpool is now owned by a Texan, FCD might forge a relationship with Liverpool. I would trade Liverpool for the Gunners, ifyou are all right with it. Pity we struck out with Celtic.
What were the Rapids promised in the relationship?
Player exchange? NO.
Coaches working together? NO.
Friendly? Damn lucky if you get this.
Youth program relationship? Rapids coaches can look at the Arsenal youth teams practice.
FCD has two relationships, and are looking for another. Tigres and CAP are looking to create a brand in the US, just as Arsenal is looking to expand thiers. No knock on the Rapids, since FCD is the biggest whore in the bussiness. FCD fans get on Big Soccer and talk about the holes in the teams, and how Tigres or CAP have a player that they will loan to FCD. No fucking way will either team give any tam a player they have an interest in. We get a home and home with both teams, but that is Tigres and CAP, not Arsenal or Liverpool. Somehow, FCD beat Tigres is the bullshit "Rio Grande Plate" tie on penalty kicks. We can beat any team on pk's except Colorado.
Here is one thing....
Isn't Colorado's new stadium a large complex, like Frisco? Here is something Columbus. El Lay, and Shitcago don't have. Do not believe the Europeans here, it makes a lot of sense for a team like Arsenal to come to the US to train. I saw the members of AC Milan and Parma wandering around the Pentagon City Mall once. The big teams can come over, see the sights, practice at top notch facilities, and get a game against an in season form team. We hosteed Everton last year, but did not get a game. The front office set up an Everton Club America game, since that would make a lot of money. That is how things work in Dallas.
You know they could call them the Colorado Arsenal... I mean there is a bevy of nuclear weapons under those Rockies correct ? Although I must say Denver has the best nicknames for the major sports of any city...
Is there any truth to the rumor of Phoenix getting an MLS franchise. I've never been a huge fan of MLS but if Manchester City continues at this pace they will be relegated and I won't be able to see any of their matches.
