Cunt is a derogatory term for a woman. While you are correct it's a vulgar term for a vagina, it was generally used in relation to prostitutes, and gradually became taboo and unsociable word we know and love today. If you use it, you're not referring to just a vagina, but the most disgusting and vile example of one imaginable. It effectively pisses all over the idea that women are equal to men in any way, and reduces them to a disease ridden whore. Feminist may have reclaimed the word, and we now use it in other ways, but if you call someone a cunt, you're going back to that original meaning. You might not think it when you do it, but you are doing it.
Ultimately, all insults are used to reduce a person by equating them with unfavourable things. Do I have utter contempt for the person I directed this insult at, yes. Am I sorry I called him it, no. It was pretty much the most offensive thing I could think of at the time. However, I dispute that this one comment shows I have severe contempt and wilful ignorance towards the Muslims of the Middle East. One insult does not a racist make. If you want to accuse me of that, I want you to back it up with a little more evidence.
It's interesting that you consider using the word itself to be a form of racism, even when it wasn't used in a racist way. My blog made it clear I was only referring to the man, as a personal insult, not everybody in the Middle East. Does intention not come into it at all? Or are you so eager to fight racism that you jump on anything that resembles it? Because, I'm not personally a fan of that.
