So, I just finished reading the last of the "Sword of Truth" series. More than a bit epic, for me. Back in the day I picked books exclusively based on size. "Wizard's First Rule" was a very thick book so it met my prerequisites. I enjoyed the story; it had dragons and magic and characters I cared about.
The second book was likewise quite delightful and also was one of the more heart-wrenching books for me... starting the destructive habit I have of insisting on reading the last 300 (or so) pages in one sitting if at all possible. Otherwise, I'd spend all my time thinking about the book world instead of the real one..
The rest of their series had its ups and downs (the third and the fifth being the big "downs"). "Pillars of Creation" was interesting in that it was a largely tangential work... not something I was used to in a series. Nonetheless, good or bad I read them all even when they started getting exceptionally preachy ("Faith of the Fallen" on) and each one I figure has earned its place on my shelf for some reason or another.
Now it is over. Getting teary eyed isn't generally my thing but both the book itself and the end of the series definately made me a bit misty.
Just thought I'd share.

Well it will most likely end up being a series of marathons. I don't think we could possibly fit all those movies in one day.
